Students and staff had a blast in May at our school. We kicked off the month with our Scholastic Book Fair and Staff Appreciation Week. We appreciate all of our families that participated in purchasing books and spoiling our staff! Our school took a moment to celebrate all our student's amazing moms with the in-person Mother's Day Brunch. It was lovely having everyone inside the classrooms and getting to know each other better face to face. The children were so excited to present their handmade gifts and show off their classrooms. Our curriculum focused on Whales and Migration. For this month, our classrooms received caterpillars to showcase the life cycle of a butterfly. Students enjoyed being a part of this process and watch the caterpillars go through each stage of the transformation. At the end of May, our school took time off on the 31st to observe Memorial Day.
As this school year comes to an end, we want to take a moment to say, Thank You to all our families for allowing the Montessori School of San Clemente to be your child's school. On behalf of the faculty and staff, we are grateful and honored to be a part of your child's early childhood education. We have a fun-filled summer curriculum planned for those of our students who will be continuing with us for summer and fall. For those students who will graduate and move on to new schools, we wish you all the best and encourage you to stop by and visit! Congratulations to the Class Of 2021!
In June, our curriculum will be about Community Helpers. Our teachers will be lead discussions on who they are, how they help us, and why. This month we will also be focusing on our home state California. We will be doing themed art projects for both, such as California poppy and firefighter hats. Be on the lookout for fridge-worthy art coming home.
